Port Arthur man upset with overlooked debris from Harvey

A Port Arthur man says he's tired of seeing the same piles of debris outside of his home since Tropical Storm Harvey.

Randy Reese says a pile of debris along Jimmy Johnson Boulevard near Brazos Avenue has stayed in the same spot for over four months after Tropical Storm Harvey.

"It does nothing but aggravate me to no ends, and everybody in Port Arthur is still mad about it," Reese said.

Reese says he is frustrated with what he believes is a lack of effort from the city of Port Arthur.

Another pile of sheetrock and other trash has sat on Reese’s front yard for three weeks.

"I don't know what the hold-up is about getting people in here to do the clean-up," Reese said.

TxDOT has brought in crews to help clean up debris piles at the beginning of February.

Reese feels that some areas of Port Arthur are being overlooked by city officials.

"It really gets frustrating that the city can't seem to get anything done," Reese said.

TxDOT has not announced when they will stop helping with cleanup.

12News has reached out to the city’s public information officer for comment.
