Jasper-Newton Electric Cooperative receives bomb threat

Dir. of Member Relations Joey Davis said law enforcement was called and the building was searched. He said nothing was found and the all-clear was given at 10 a.m.

KIRBYVILLE — A spokesperson for the Jasper-Newton Electric Cooperative confirmed to 12News that a bomb threat was received at the cooperative’s Kirbyville facility. The threat was received around 8:30 a.m. and the building was evacuated.

Dir. of Member Relations Joey Davis said law enforcement was called and the building was searched. He said nothing was found and the all-clear was given at 10 a.m.

The threat did not disrupt power service

The Jasper-Newton Electric Cooperative provides electrical service to the rural areas of Jasper and Newton Counties.
