BEAUMONT — Family and friends gathered at the street corner of North Street and Ewing Street in Beaumont to remember their lost loved one.
Fifty two year old Gregory Wilridge was killed Thursday night during a dice game.
Family and friends say he was just trying to diffuse the situation.
"He'd help anybody, he had a heart of gold,” Nikki Richards, Greg's girlfriend said.
Richards says he talked to his eleven year old daughter just an hour before the shooting happened.
"I just feel bad for my baby, because I know she was close to him you know that was her daddy,” Richards said.
Wilridge had just buried his mother almost a month ago, and now his sister, Ella Thomas is left with having to plan his.
"Justice is going to be served and I am going to make sure of it, because he deserves justice and that’s what he's going to get," Thomas said.
