The source of a mysterious loud boom led Jefferson County deputies to a gender reveal party Saturday night.
A spokesperson with the JCSO said they received several calls from people asking about the noise across the mid-county area.
Deputies arrived at a home off West Port Arthur road and found out a father-to-be shot a tannerite target to reveal either pink or blue for the gender of a baby.
He then decided to shoot up what was left.
Deputies advised the group to stop.
