ANGELINA COUNTY, Texas — The body of a missing boater has been found not far from where an empty boat was found Sunday evening.
Game wardens with Texas Parks and Wildlife confirmed Tuesday that they believe they have found the body of the boater they have been searching for since Sunday evening.
The man's body was discovered at about 7:30 a.m., Tuesday morning, about a half mile west of a boat ramp near Texas Highway 147 according to game wardens.
It is believed that the man, who has not been identified, drowned but an autopsy has been ordered.
Game wardens initially responded to the Black Forest area of Lake Sam Rayburn Sunday evening near a public boat ramp on Recreational Road 255 after the man was first reported missing according to Angelina County game warden Erick Collins said.
They found a fishing boat but no operator, Collins said.
