Beaumont's historic Jefferson Theatre taking the summer off for repairs beginning in May 2018

Some of the planned repairs are for the roof, ceiling, plaster, lobby and dressing room remodeling according to the release.

Downtown Beaumont's historic Jefferson Theatre will be closing for renovations for the summer.

The theater, which was completely renovated in 2003, will be closing from June 2018 through possibly as late as October 2018 according to a release from the City of Beaumont.

The Bobby Bones Red Hoodie Comedy Tour will be the final major show at the theater on May 11 before the theater closes temporarily the release said.

The Bobby Bones show also appeared at the theater in 2016 when it sold out in ten minutes according to the release.

The regular Classic Movie Nights will also continue until the theater closes and feature the original Cinderella, Hook, Urban Cowboy, Sleepless in Seattle, Toy Story and the original Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory according to the release.
