BEAUMONT — A Southeast Texas PGA golf pro is sentenced to five years in prison after he pleaded guilty to two counts of sexual assault of a child.
The investigation began after the victim’s father found text messages from Kurt Henry Picard to his daughter according to 12News file stories.
A forensic analysis of the girl's cell phone was conducted as part of the investigation. It revealed that Picard had sent the victim explicit messages through a messaging app.
Picard met his victim when her family hired him as a golf coach.
He was sentenced before Judge Larry Gist Wednesday. He could have received up to 20 years for each count.
