Former Orange police officer sentenced to 20 months after violating probation

Saleme, who resigned from the Orange Police Department in June 2013, was arrested in July for violating his probation and records show he's been arrested four times since his resignation.

ORANGE — A former Orange Police officer was sentenced to 20 months in prison Friday after violating his probation.

Taylor Saleme pleaded "open to the judge" in July 2018. The plea allowed 128th District Court Judge Courtney Arkeen to decide on his sentencing.

Saleme failed to pay his probation fees, installments on a $500 fine, court costs, investigative fees and did not reimburse the a crime victim compensation fund according to a motion to revoke his probation.

He also never did any of his order 140 hours of community service according to the motion.

Saleme, who resigned from the Orange Police Department in June 2013, has been arrested four times since his resignation.

In May of 2016, Vidor Police arrested Saleme for trespassing after a homeowner reported that Salame entered the residence without permission.

He was also arrested for a 2013 theft of hydrocodone, a prescribed medication and driving while intoxicated with a child under 15 in the vehicle. He was sentenced to 18 months probation for the theft and 4 years probation for the DWI. He was also arrested for a state jail felony in Bridge City on April 19, 2015.

In June 2018, Beaumont Police arrested Saleme after he assaulted his adoptive father, causing his brain to bleed.
